The application of infrared moisture meter adopts dual detector structure and filter coating technology, which eliminates the instrument's sensitivity and uncertainty to the color of materials, does not produce linear drift, and has good stability. The infrared principle is reflective and non-contact measurement, which is not destructive to the material, and is suitable for the measurement of water outside the material.

  Water shows strong absorption characteristics for infrared light of some specific wavelengths (specific measurement band 1.94µm). When the material is irradiated with infrared light of these specific wavelengths, the water contained in the material will absorb part of the energy of the infrared light, including The more the amount of water, the more the energy loss of the infrared light, so the moisture content of the tested material can be calculated according to the intensity attenuation of the reflected light.
When a water molecule is excited by a specific energy band, it becomes a vibrational state, and the hydrogen-oxygen bond of two hydrogen atoms bound to an oxygen atom in the water molecule stretches, contracts, or twists in other forms. The energy that vibrates water molecules spans specific bands of the entire electromagnetic spectrum. In different parts of the entire spectrum, some absorption bands are very strong, and some absorption bands are very weak. In the near-infrared part of the spectrum, this band is particularly strong for water molecules, and the instrument is more accessible in terms of emitting, filtering and receiving energy. Near infrared measurement technology is a non-destructive, non-contact real-time measurement technology
